IEVA & ALONSO
Alonso and Ieva are a Sydney-based Latin dance couple with a combined teaching experience of over 20 years, specialising in Salsa and Bachata. Teaching both nationally and internationally, they are known for balancing technical precision and structured training with creative expression and musical interpretation, blending Ieva’s strong technical foundation with Alonso’s creative approach and cultural exposure to Salsa and Bachata.
As active performers and social dancers, they deliver high-impact workshops, build strong foundations for social dancers, and elevate performers and competitors with clear, practical concepts. They are two-year running Freestyle Champions at World Salsa Solo Australia in both Salsa and Bachata, as well as Salsa Jack and Jill Champions 2024 at the Australian Salsa Championships
Ieva Mila is a Sydney-based Latin dance artist, performer, and coach with over 20 years of dance experience. She began dancing at the age of four, training in Ballroom until eighteen, and studied dance in Lithuania where she completed a degree in Dance Pedagogy and performed alongside well-known artists on major stages.
After relocating to Australia, Ieva continued her formal training, completing Certificate III and IV in Dance, before transitioning into Bachata and Salsa, which she has specialised in for the past seven years.
An Australian Jack & Jill and Freestyle Salsa & Bachata Champion and Pro-level competitor, she is recognised for her expressive movement, musicality, and connection-focused teaching approach.
Ieva travels internationally teaching and performing, creating teams, growing dance communities, and supporting dancers of all ages, with extensive experience working with both children and adults, and teaches alongside her partner Alonso Oliveira.
IEVA MILA
Alonso Sanabria Olivera is a Sydney-based Latin dance artist, performer, and coach with over 11 years of dance experience and 10 years of teaching Salsa and Bachata.
Teaching nationally and internationally, he is known for blending clear technical structure with creative musical interpretation rooted in his cultural exposure to Salsa and Bachata.
A two-year running World Salsa Solo Freestyle Champion (Professional) in both Salsa and Bachata and Salsa Jack and Jill Champion 2024, Alonso emphasises connection, musicality, and practical lead and follow, ensuring his teaching translates seamlessly from the classroom to the social dance floor and the stage.
